Message from the Chairman:
All our wonderful One Meal volunteers have been busy over the last couple of months. The demand for our support services continues to grow and we are all working hard to meet the challenge. We have partnered with St Canice, a truly caring Catholic Parish community in Darlinghurst that enables us to store and prepare our meals for the Saturday and Sunday City Services. We look forward to building this relationship through the tireless efforts of Justin Davey, our City Coordinator.
A big thank you to Emma Williams, Board Member and Canterbury Bankstown Coordinator – Emma Williams for assisting Justin in getting the City Service organised. Over on the Northern Beaches , the major issue has been news that St Vincent de Paul have announced the cessation of our 3 year rent free occupancy of the Brookvale warehouse space from 1st November 2025. The Brookvale space is an important facility for storage , food preparation and distribution for a major part of the One Meal services. On a positive note , One Meal has reached an agreement with St Vincent de Paul that allows us to continue to occupy the Brookvale site for 3 more years subject to paying a commercial rental.
The One Meal Leadership team is working with the local Northern Beaches community to raise funds to cover the rent costs. The One Meal Board will take care to ensure the property expenses and related fundraising do not impact funding available for other activities across the wider charity. There has been a change in leadership at the Northern Beaches. The long standing Northern Beaches Coordinator and Board Member has decided to take a well earned rest after 8 years of dedicated commitment. The good news is that Kim will continue as a One Meal Volunteer and will work on special projects for the Charity. One Meal is indebted to Kim for his passion and drive to build the Northern Beaches operation to where it is today.
One Meal will continue to grow and serve the Community with your support.
