What? When? Where?

It is always good to be reassured that your generous donation is going to make a real difference. One Hamper is a Christmas initiative of One Meal, a not-for-profit, community charity. Every week, across Sydney, we help by providing hot, nutritious fresh meals, weekly hampers and pantry staples to vulnerable individuals and families. We are 100% volunteer run, 100% not-for-profit, 100% community focussed. Read more about what we do every week here.

Christmas is a time of generosity. Your hamper will be part of giving those in need a little lift at this time of the year. One Meal and our partners will be distributing thousands of hearty meals across Sydney. And we will be adding your generous One Hamper to bring further Christmas cheer. In 2024 the following food relief charities and organisations will be receiving and distributing the boxes:

Now that you have joined the hamper team it’s time to grab your hamper box ready to fill. You can pick up your box throughout October and November. Once you register we’ll send you details on range of location options as well as post updates below. Pop in at a time convenient to you and grab your hamper box.

Please return your filled (but not closed) boxes by 2 December 2024 to one of the following collection points.

Here is where the fun starts. Fold your box with its snap base. There is no need to tape the base or later on the top.

Here is a suggested list of items to get you thinking but feel free to add your own caring Christmas twist.

We can’t take alcohol, second hand or any out of date items. And fresh food items just won’t survive, so keep those out too. A good mix of food staples and Christmas cheer would be fantastic. Special dietary hampers such as gluten free, are most appreciated. Please add a note on the top of the items in the hamper that lets us know so we can then get it to the right recipient.

If you want to add in a general message in an unsealed Christmas card, or toiletries please add these on the top. We will need to just have a quick check before forwarding the hamper onwards.

Most importantly please do not tape your box closed. We do need to check it before it goes out and any tape, top or bottom, just hinders that process.

So that we can get your hamper to our partners and on its final destination please return to the listed drop off locations by 2nd December, 2024. Earlier is fine also. And if you get it back early maybe you might want to consider taking a second hamper to fill! We love generosity.

We understand that sometimes you might want to get involved but are unable to commit to filling a hamper this time. We have another option for you. Just head to the donate page and allow us to fill a hamper on your behalf. Make sure you pop the code "Hamper" into the donation form.

As a community led organisation we can only do what we do when people like yourself get involved.
